In 2018 I never expected to meet my future husband, Dallin. I was just turning 20 and had a little get together/birthday party with a few close friends. We had a mutual friend (how we met) who wanted Dallin to come to my party, but I didn't want him to until I met him outside at a different kind of scene. I was not looking to meet "anyone" at the time so I didn't think much of it.
I graduated high school from Coeur d' Alene High school here in North Idaho in 2017. Then I started the Graphic Design program at North Idaho college in 2018. It is a two year associate
program super fast and hands on to learn all about design and set you up for success. I also had just started a nanny job and moved into a studio apartment/guest house of the nanny family and am still super close to them today!
In the past few years I have been working at a local Breakfast restaurant to make it through school and now to pay my bills. I planned to only work there through college, however Covid happened A.K.A a global pandemic. Thus throwing off my life plan complexity to say the least. Yes, many great things came out of that long year i.e.Graduating with my degree and getting married.
Normally most years the Graphic Design program I attended has a portfolio show at the end of the two years and students get to walk at graduation. However, with social distancing happening and in person events not neither of those got to happen for me so it really changed my plans. So with my hopes of landing my dream career in my early 20s being put on hold I have had to rethink what my life is going to look like and learn to be flexible and go with the flow.
I love reading books that help me grow or are considered "self-help" books. Recently I have read about how there is a lie in the world about "how far along we should be" by a certain age. I am having to shift my brain and really focus on this. Come with me as I grow in my early 20s and figure out where life is going to take me.
